Prez Mahama suspends campaign to mourn Aliu Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has suspended campaign to mourn the sudden demise of former Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama.

The former Vice President passed on at the Korlu-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra on Friday, after a short illness.

The President says he was returning to Accra from the Brong Ahafo Region, where he has been campaigning for the past five days.

“This is unfortunate and I am suspending my campaign now to return to Accra and see how this sad news will be handled. I offered him all the support as a younger brother…this is very unfortunate,” the President sorrowfully told Ghana television.
