Pressure group sympathises with former first family

Accra, Feb. 16, GNA – Youth for Leadership in Ghana (YFL), a pressure group, has extended its sympathy to former President Jerry John Rawlings and his family in the wake of the fire that consumed their Ridge residence on Sunday. A statement issued by the group in Accra on Tuesday and signed by its General Secretary, Mr. Amenga-Etego SaCut (Eds correct), urged the former first family to be strong and thanked the government for its efforts in resettling the first family.

The group appealed to the government to open thorough investigations into the incident in order to establish the real cause as the country has experienced a series of fire disasters in recent months. “We believe they may be well orchestrated and it is for this reason that we emphasize the crucial need to nib this menace in the bud before the fire gets to the Castle,” the statement read. 16 Feb. 10
