Press Foundation commends Minister’s decision to work with media

The Press Foundation (TPF) has commended the Ashanti Regional Minister-Designate Simon Osei Mensah, for his promise to work with the media in highlighting the challenges of the region.

Mr. Simon Osei Mensah during his vetting on Tuesday emphasized his avowed commitment to the media, promising his readiness to work with journalists in the Region a decision TPF lauded stating that there can be no meaningful development without the media.

“This, the TPF believes is because, the nominee emphasized his avowed commitment to the media, promising his readiness to work with journalists in the Region.

This is because, TPF believes there can be no meaningful development without the media. Courting the media as a core stakeholder is therefore on point.

To the extent that, he gave his express desire, not only to continue, but also ensure the completion of the Press Centre, commenced by the former administration was reassuring”, TPF stated in a release issued and signed by its Executive Director Listowell Yesu Bukarson.

It therefore urged parliament to, without hesitation, confirm the nominee, to enable him begin the course of development in the region.

“We would like to also point out, that the media are ready to work with Hon. Osei Mensah to ensure he succeeds in office”, it concluded.
