Presidential Security Staff Passes Away

Inspector Emmanuel Haruna Yakubu, a 40-year old security staffer of the President has passed away.

Inspector Haruna, an accomplished sportsman who was once an instructor at the Police Depot, was the son of former Inspector General of Police, Mr. B.A. Yakubu, who is currently the Gushie-Na, Chief of Gushegu. He was one of the security personnel selected to undergo the VVIP Guards course where he excelled.

He left behind four children Samata Yakubu, Anita Naa Lamiley Yakubu, Abraham Yakubu and Verity Mperey.

The deceased’s brothers and sisters include Sanatu Yakubu, Tamale, Abu Yakubu, GWC, Tamale, Zenabu Yakubu, IRS, Accra, Mariama Yakubu, Tamale, Baba Yakubu, Koforidua, Major Salifu Yakubu, Samuel Yamusah Yakubu, USA, Enrico Quansah, Ghana Reinsurance, Joe Hansen Addy, London, Joyce Addy London and Mrs. Patterson, USA.

His burial which would be at the Awudome Cemetery will be preceded by a laying in state from 7am-9am at ICGC Christ Temple at Abossey Okai on 9th June. There will be a memorial and thanksgiving service at the Police Depot park after the burial, according to a family source, who added that there would be no wake-keeping.
