President urges returnees to contribute to national development

Bolgatanga (UE), March 27, GNA – President John Evans Atta Mills on Saturday asked Ghanaian returnees from Libya to remain in the country and contribute to national development.

The President said he was glad that they had returned to Ghana in good health adding 93Whatever you have lost, with hard work you would be able to make life comfortable for yourselves and your families”. President Mills made the call when he spent time off his busy working tour of the Upper East Region to address a second batch of 63 returnees from Libya, at Bolgatanga.

He said Government had made the necessary arrangements to evacuate all Ghanaians back home from Libya and would keep track of those already in the country.

President Mills asked the returnees, who are mostly artisans, to take advantage of Government programmes and properly rehabilitate. Mr Abdul Hanan Zubeiru, who accompanied the returnees from Niamey, Niger, said they were from the Ashanti and Greater Accra Regions. The returnees had walked from Libya to Niger.
