President of Hotel and Catering Association visits Ghana

Accra, June 22, GNA – The President of the Hotel and Catering International Management Association (HCIMA), began a four-day official tour of Ghana, with a call on the country’s hospitality services, to promote local cuisines to meet international standards.

Mr Chandi Jayawadena, who is accompanied by his wife Melaine, said there was the need for Ghana to promote indigenous foods to meet the dynamic nature of the catering and hotel services.

He told journalists on arrival in Accra on Monday that he would hold a seminar for HCIMA members on the topic: ” Personality Analysis, a tool for Hospitality Managers”.

He would also interact with members of the Togolese group of the HCIMA in Accra, call on the Minister of Tourism and the Modernisation of the Capital and visit places of tourist interests.

Mr Jayawardena expressed delight to be the first president of the world body to tour Africa.

He said his three-week tour of Africa had taken him to South Africa, Kenya, Zambia and Nigeria.
