President Nana Addo must be hard on security in lawless Ghana – Effah Dartey

A retired military officer, and former presidential hopeful with the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Captain [rtd] Nkrabea Effah Dartey has asserted that, Ghana is seriously a lawless country and if measures are not adopted to deal with acts of impunity, it will be grave.

He was responding to a question whether Ghanaians are lawless despite education by the media on law and order.

According to him, Ghana is sitting on a time bomb following the recent mob attacks that have claimed lives including the late Major Maxwell Mahama. The lawyer said, I will soon petition the president and his cabinet to be hard on law and order due to the lawlessness recorded so far.

He also recommended for a police station in every corner of the country, this he stressed will help maintain law and order. ‘’In the week that Mahama lost his life, there were reports of lynching and mob attacks….We must be strict on the law. We should double the task of police personnel and I recommend a police station in every corner of the country…We must be hard on security.

If I recall how the late Major Mahama was killed, I will recommend that we have a police station in every corner.’’
