Five Ambassadors accredited to Ghana have presented their credentials to His Excellency, John Evans Atta Mills, President of the Republic of Ghana, at the Flag Staff House in Accra, today.
The countries are the Republics of Senegal, Republic of Sudan, Switzerland, Jamaica and Gabon.
Interacting with the President, the Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal, H.E. Mr. Cherif Oumar, noted that Ghana has accomplished notable progress in a lot of domains, thanks to necessary internal reforms which are being undertaken by the government to promote virtues of development and make the nation, eventually an emergent country on the global level.
The Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Ghana, H.E. Mr. Andrea Semadeni, also said the President’s recent visit to Switzerland with a high level delegation from Ghana was a demonstration of the strong ties and a high potential for further intensification of the bilateral relations between the two countries.
He also commended Ghana for being among the top five trading partners of Switzerland in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The Ambassador of Gabon, H.E. Mr. Joseph Obiang, indicated that Gabon has acknowledged with satisfaction the actual progress made by the Ghana government and the people in the areas of good governance, peace, unity and socio economic development.
He disclosed that Gabon has taken the decision to process wood and is in need of the expertise of the private wood processing companies in Ghana.
The Ambassador of Sudan, H.E. Mohammed Eisa Ismaail and the Ambassador of Jamaica, H.E. Mr. Joseph Obiang who also presented their credentials added their recognition to the leading role played by Ghana in the Caribbean.
Professor Mills, therefore, congratulated them on their appointment as Ambassadors to Ghana and assured them of fullest cooperation in order to meet their mutual benefits.
