President Mills appoints Anna Bossman Acting CHRAJ boss

Accra, Dec. 2, GNA – President John Evans Atta Mills has appointed Ms Anna Bossman as Acting Commissioner of the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).

A statement signed by the Secretary to the President, Mr James Bebaako-Mensah, in Accra on Wednesday said the appointment took effect from December 1, 2010.

Her appointment follows the voluntary retirement of the Commissioner of CHRAJ, Mr Francis Emile Short, 67, with effect from November 30, 2010. Until her appointment, she was the Deputy Commissioner of CHRAJ. She=

acted as Commissioner when Mr Short took up a post at the UN Internationa= l Criminal Court for Rwanda in Arusha, Tanzania, from 2004-2009.

Ms Bossman began her career as an Assistant State Attorney in the Criminal Division of the Ministry of Justice and Attorney-General’s Department in Ghana after graduating from the Ghana School of Law in 1980= .. She also worked extensively in the energy sector taking up various legal, managerial and consultancy services with multinational oil and gas=
