President Mills appoints a new Ashanti Regional Minister

Accra, Jan. 12, GNA – President John Evans Atta Mills on Wednesday nominated Dr Kwaku Agyeman-Mensah as Ashanti Regional Minister. A statement from the Office of the President signed by Mr J.K.Bebaako-Mensah, Secretary to the President, said he would replace Mr Kofi Opoku-Manu. It said President Mills had also appointed Mr Peter A. Wiredu, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) as Acting Director of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS). He replaces Ms Elizabeth Adjei, who is to be re-assigned.
