President Mahama visits Naadu Mills and signs book of condolence

President John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday visited the residence of the late President, John Evans Atta Mills at Regimanuel Estates, Spintex, to commiserate with the bereaved family, where he also signed a book of condolence.

Though the media was not privy to the meeting, it was believed the President expressed the sympathy of the Government and people of Ghana to the bereaved family.

President Mahama, who did not make any statement after the visit and the signing of the book, was accompanied by the Chief of Staff, Henry Martey Newman, Presidential Advisor on National Security, Brigadier-General Nunoo-Mensah, General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Dr. Christine Amoako Nuama, Policy Advisor at the Presidency, the Majority Leader in Parliament, Cletus Avoka and ministers, who were all clad in mourning attire.

The ministers and Government officials later took their turns to commiserate with Mrs. Mills and later appended their signatures to the book of condolence.

The President also signed another book of condolence, which had been opened at the State House without any official statement.

In honor of the memory of the late President, the Government opened book of condolences at the Flagstaff House, the State House, Banquet Hall and the residence of the late President.

A statement signed by Mr. Fritz Baffour, Minister of Information, said book of condolences would be opened in all the regional capitals in honor of late President Mills.**
