President Mahama presents cow to three orphanages

President John Dramani Mahama has presented a cow to three orphanages at Awiebo, Essiama and Kamgbunli.

Mr. Daniel Eshun, Ellembelle District Chief Executive, made the presentation on behalf of the President at a ceremony at Kamgbunli.

Pastor Paul Mukey, Reverend (Dr) Peace Donkor and Utaz Haraan, caretakers of the Awiebo, Essiama and Kamgbunli orphanages respectively, received the cow on Friday.

Mr. Eshun said the cow was presented to the President by the Kamgbunli Community during a visit to the area last year.

He said the President decided to donate the cow to the orphanages to support the upkeep of the inmates.

Mr. Eshun said the government was committed to supporting the disadvantaged and the vulnerable in the society, adding that the District Assembly would also come to the aid of the orphanages.
