President Mahama nominates West Akim MCE

President John Dramani Mahama, has nominated Mr George Mensah Akpalu as the West Akim Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).

A statement signed by Alhaji Collins Dauda, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra said: “By virtue of Section 243 (1) of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana and Section 20 (1) of the Local Government Act, the President has nominated Mr George Mensah Akpalu as the Municipal Chief Executive for West Akim Municipal Assembly.”

The statement requested the Eastern Regional Minister to facilitate the process of confirmation of the nominated MCE.

It said by copy of this letter the Chairman of the Electoral Commission is requested to conduct his confirmation.
