President Mahama hits Volta Region to launch manifesto

President Mahama is in the Volta Region as he prepares to launch the party’s manifesto for the 2012 General Elections.

The president made his first stop in Juapong where he addressed a mini rally of chiefs and people in the area.

XYZ News’ Presidential Correspondent, Kwame Danso Acheampong, reports that the residents of the area came out in their numbers to meet the president.

President Mahama and other party executives will be launching the NDC’s Manifesto on Thursday. The manifesto is expected to be big on education, health care and corruption.

He is expected to be in the region till Friday. The NDC’s Volta regional Secretary, Simon Amegashie Viglo, who outlined the President’s itinerary to XYZ News said he is on his way to Peki.

Mr. Viglo said “from Peki, he will go down to Dzolokpuita to meet the chiefs and people and opinion leaders, commission a few projects, before coming to spend the night in Ho.”

The president will officially start his campaign tours in the region on Friday, after the manifesto launch.
