President Kufuor visits Upper West Region

Wa, Oct. 17, GNA – President J.A. Kufuor arrived at Wa on Sunday to undertake a three-day tour of the Upper West Region.

During his stay in the Region, the President will attend the climax of the Kobine Festival at Lawra, address durbars of chiefs and gatherings at Jirapa, Nadowli and Babile.

He will also inspect on-going development projects and commission completed ones during his tour.

President Kufuor will visit all the eight District capitals and other towns to ascertain progress of development in those areas and also have first hand information on their problems.

Durbars and mini-rallies will also be organised to honour him during his visit.

Nana Akuffo-Addo, Minister of Foreign Affairs accompanied the President.

Mr Sahanun Mogtari, Upper West Regional Minister, Professor Kasim Kasanga Minister of Science and Environment and Mr Ambrose Dery, Deputy Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Heads of Departments, party supporters and sympathisers lined up at the airport to welcome the President.
