President Kufuor tours Eastern Region

Accra, Aug. 26, GNA- President John Agyekum Kufour would on Saturday August 28, begin a four-day official visit to the Eastern Region.

The President would be the Special Guest of Honour at the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Kwawu Government Hospital at Atibie, where he would attend a durbar of the chiefs and the people of Abetifi. A statement issued in Accra on Thursday and signed by Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Press Secretary and Presidential Spokesman, said on Sunday, August 29, the President would proceed to Yilo Krobo, Manya Krobo and Asuogyaman Districts, where he would be the guest of the Chiefs and people at separate durbars.

The statement said the tour would take President Kufuor to Kyebi, Atiwa, Kwaebibirim and other areas including Suhum-Kraboa Coaltar and Akwapim South Districts, where he would address various durbars and interact with the people.

The President is expected back in Accra on Tuesday August 31.
