President Kufuor to address May Day parade

Accra, April 25, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor would address this year’s May Day parade at the Independence Square on May 1, a statement by the Trades Union Congress (TUC) in Accra on Monday said.

The statement signed by Mr Kwaku Darko Aferi, Head of Public Relations of the TUC, said the theme for the celebration is: “Unity of Purpose Under Freedom of Association: The Goal of Organised Labour.” It said the Secretary-General of the TUC, Mr Kwasi Adu-Amankaah would deliver the May Day Address on behalf of organised labour. Representatives of the Secretary-General would deliver the same address in all the Regional Capitals.

A number of unionised workers who excelled in their various fields of endeavour would be honoured at the regional and national levels.
