President Kufuor leaves for Abuja

Accra, Dec. 19, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor left Accra on Friday for Abuja, Nigeria, to attend the 35th ordinary summit of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The summit, which opens on Friday, is expected to discuss recommendations for improving regional infrastructure, the formation of an ECOWAS regional electricity regulatory authority and an ECOWAS centre for renewable energy and energy efficiency, as part of an action plan to find a solution to the energy crisis in West Africa. President Kufuor is expected to return later in the day.
