President Kufuor inspects Tepa-Mankranso road project

Wioso (Ash), Aug 22, GNA- President John Agyekum Kufuor on Friday inspected work on the 45-kilometre Tepa-Mankranso road, estimated at 36 billion cedis at Wioso in Ashanti.

President Kufuor did the inspection after addressing a durbar of chiefs and people of the Ahafo-Ano North District at Tepa, as part of his official visit of Ashanti Region.

The President said the area was well noted for cocoa and food crops and the rehabilitation of the road would help boost the economic activities in the area.

He urged the contractors P.W. Ghanem to keep up with the pace of work and complete the project on schedule.

Mr Emmanuel Opoku, the Project Manager, who briefed President Kufuor said the project is being jointly financed by the Ghana Government and KFW of Germany.

He said about 75 percent of the project was completed and expressed the hope that it will be completed in February next year.
