President Kufuor in Abuja for AU Summit

Abuja, Jan.28, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor arrived in Abuja, Nigeria on Friday to attend the Fourth Ordinary Summit of the African Union (AU).

A programme released in the Nigerian capital said President Kufuor, AU Chairman President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria, President Thabo Mbeki of South Africa and President Abdoulaye Wade of Senegal would address an AU-NEPAD Meeting on Saturday. It said President Kufuor would later in the day chair the AU-High Level Heads of State Non-Aggression Pact and the Security and Defence Council.

The two-day Summit is expected to open officially on Sunday.
