Kormantse (C/R), Nov 03, GNA – Mr Robert Quainoo-Arthur, the Mfantseman District Chief Executive has, on behalf of President John Agyekum Kufuor, donated food items worth about 2.2 million cedis to students of the Bible College at Kormantse in the Central Region. The items included rice, sugar, milk and cooking oil and they are to be used to feed the students.
Mr Quainoo-Arthur said the government acknowledged the role the churches played to ensure peace during the 2000 general elections and urged them not to relent in their prayers for the December election since its would signify maturity of the Ghana’s democratic dispensation. Pastor Frederick Kyereko, the Principal of the College who received the items, expressed gratitude to the President.
The Pastor assured that the Church would not only pray for peace but would also educate the congregation on things that constituted electoral malpractices.
