Kumasi, Aug 20, GNA- President John Agyekum Kufuor on Wednesday arrived in Kumasi to continue his one-week official tour of Ashanti Region.
President Kufuor, who was scheduled to begin the tour last Thursday, toured five out of the 18 districts and had to return to Accra to meet President Koumba Yala of Guinea Bissau and the President of Equatorial Guinea, General Teodoro Obian N’Guema M’basogo.
He begins the second round of his tour on Thursday with durbars at Bekwai, Obuasi and New Edubiase. The President would also inaugurate a telephone exchange at Dompoase in the Adansi West District. President Kufuor is scheduled to round off his tour on Monday, August 25 with the inauguration of projects and a durbar at the Jackson Park in Kumasi.
