President Kufuor appeals to teachers

Accra, June 16, GNA- President John Agyekum Kufuor on Wednesday made a passionate appeal to teachers to continue to render good services to the country although they are poorly enumerated.

He said this would ensure graduates from the country’s schools to be more focused for the socio-economic development of the country and humanity.

President Kufuor made the appeal when students of the Ghana United Nations Students Association (GUNSA) Chapter from the Wesley Girls High School in Cape Coast on a tour to the Castle, Osu paid a courtesy call on him.

He asked the students to pursue their studies seriously and purposefully to achieve their ambition.

President Kufuor urged the students to learn from the aims and objectives of the United Nations (UN), which are geared towards unity, peace, fellow-feeling and respect for humanity.

Ms Kate Annan Wilberforce, a Tutor of the School who led the students, said the visit was to learn how the seat of the Government was run and said the students were privileged to meet the President.
