President honours promise to Koforidua Nursing Training College

Koforidua, Jan. 18, GNA – The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr. Yaw Barimah, on behalf of President John Agyekum Kufuor, presented two bulls, two bags of rice and ten crates of minerals to the Koforidua Midwifery and the Nursing Training College at Koforidua.

The items were in fulfillment of a promise made by the President to the students of the two schools when he paid a visit on December 17, 2006 to inspect the construction of a three-storey classroom block for the institution.

Presenting the items on Wednesday, Mr Barimah said the President made the offer in appreciation of scarifies that health workers and nurses are making towards the provision of better health services to the people.

Receiving the items on behalf of the two schools, Ms Evert Asare, President of the Student’s Representative Council of the Nursing Training College thanked the President for the donation and gave the assurance that current students of the school would stay in the country and work on completion of their course.
