President-Elect Tours Jubilee House

Accra, Jan. 5, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor on Monday took the President-Elect Professor John Evans Atta Mills on a tour of the Jubilee House in Accra.

The tour, which started from the office of the President, moved through, rest rooms, conference rooms, lounges, fitness centre and to the rooftop of the building, where President Kufuor took time to show the President-Elect the aerial view of Accra.

A statement from the Office of President-Elect Mills said the two men also toured the uncompleted official presidential residence.

Professor Mills thanked President Kufuor for the invitation and asked him to feel free to visit the place after he had handed over.

“You are always welcome to this place,” President-Elect Mills said.

“The fitness centre in particular will always be open to you,” he added. Chief of Staff, Kwadwo Mpiani, Presidential Adviser, Mrs Mary Chinnery-Hesse, and Secretary to the Cabinet, Mr D.K. Osei, were among the officials with President Kufuor.

President-Elect Mills was accompanied by the Vice-President-In-Waiting, Mr John Dramani Mahama; Mr Alban Bagbin, Minority Leader in the outgoing Parliament; NDC National Chairman, Dr Kwabena Adjei; NDC General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia and other NDC officials.

Prof. Mills will be sworn in on Wednesday.
