President arrives home after duty tour

Accra, May 29, GNA- President John Agyekum Kufuor returned home Tuesday evening after completing a four-nation duty tour. During a press briefing on arrival, Nana Akufo Addo Minister of Foreign Affairs said President Kufuor first visited Belgium where he met with Baroso Jose Manuel, EU Commission President on the forthcoming AU/EU summit which is expected to be held in November this year as well as the G8 summit, scheduled for June.
He said from there President Kufuor went to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia where he participated in the celebration of the African Day which fell on May 25.
President Kufuor then went on to Egypt where he had discussions with President Hosni Mubarak, geared towards strengthening relations between the two countries.
The Foreign Minister said President Kufuor then went on to Nigeria where he participated in the inaugural ceremony of President Umaru Yar’Dua.
At the airport to meet President Kufuor were Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama, Ministers of State, and the top brass of the Military and Police.
