Presidency angry with Pokua Sawyerr over attack on interior minister

XYZ News can report that the Chief of Staff, Prosper Bani, has summoned to the Flagstaff House, Deputy Central Regional Minister, Queenstar Pokua Sawyerr, for launching a vitriolic media attack on Minister for the Interior, Kwesi Ahwoi.

XYZ News gathered from reliable sources within the Flagstaff House that the presidency views Pokua Sawyerr’s attack on the cabinet minister as “unacceptable”.

The deputy minister accused the interior minister of deliberately withholding relief items meant to be distributed to flood victims in the Central region.

The MP for Agona East claimed on private radio station Joy FM on Tuesday April 23, 2013 that the interior minister was using his powers to get back at her.

The two politicians have been bitter rivals prior to the 2012 general elections.

Pokua Sawyerr won the governing National Democratic Congress’ Agona East primaries by beating Kwesi Ahwoi narrowly with three votes.

She had 146 votes while the former minister of agriculture had 143 votes.
