Presbytery honours Presiding Elder

Kasoa, March 28, GNA – The Nyanyano/Kasoa District branch of the Apostolic Church, Ghana, at its Easter Convention honoured one of its presiding elders for being incorruptible.

A citation read at the just ended convention with the theme, ”The Righteous Christ”, said Mr Divine Lartey, Presiding Elder of the Galalea branch of the district, surrendered 600,000 cedis, which he could have used for himself without anyone knowing about it. It said as the Chairman of the Planning Committee, he solely hired out canopies and chairs to some bereaved families during the funeral of the late Pastor S.B.S. Adjanor, then the District Pastor and accounted for it when rendering general accounts on the funeral.

In another Citation, Mr Lartey, also Proprietor of Saint Say Preparatory School, Galalea, near Kasoa, was mentioned along with Mr Richard Ebow Dadzie, Freetown Assembly Presiding Elder, for their hard work and selfless devotion to duty.

The citation said they occasionally committed their financial resources to the growth of the church in the district.

Apostle Justifier Korang in charge of the Area ”B” of the Church, who officiated, said the fight against corruption is at the centre stage of efforts to rid the nation of the lust for money. He said their conduct also fall in line with Christian doctrine and commended the two for their exemplary lives.

Apostle Korang said righteousness exalts a nation and they should do everything possible to instil that virtue in the flock they lead.
