Presbyterian Church to hold General Assembly

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) will hold its 13th General Assembly at the Ramseyer Training Centre, Abetifi-Kwahu in the Eastern region from August 16 to 22, 2013.

A statement signed by the Public Relations Management team and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Wednesday said the theme for this year’s meeting is: “The Fruit of the Holy Spirit and the Believer.”

The meeting will also draw up a missionary agenda for the year 2013/2014.

It said the week-long assembly would include divine service during which the new Clerk of the General Assembly, Rev.Dr. Samuel Ayete-Nyampong would be inducted.

It said President John Dramani Mahama would be the guest of honour at the meeting while the official opening ceremony would be graced by Ms Helena Ntoso, Eastern Regional Minister.

It statement said the general assembly, representing the 17 Presbyteries, will review activities of the Church in the previous year, plan for the ensuing year and also serve as a platform for fellowship, interactions and networking among delegates.

It advised that the assembly helps protect the church from errors in faith and practice, to ensure that the expression of the Presbyterian theology remains true to the biblical standards and urged members of PCG and the entire Christian community to pray for a successful Assembly.
