Presbyterian Church ordains 13 new ministers

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana has ordained 13 ministers in Accra, with a call on them to eschew practices inconsistent with true Bible teachings and their calling.

Reverend Dr Erasmus Odonkor, Ga Presbytery Chairperson of the Church, in a sermon, reminded the new ministers of their core objective of leading society particularly to the Lord.

He urged them to selflessly contribute their quota to make the Presbyterian congregation a dynamic and Christ-like family, living all their lives for the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

“You have the task of bringing all members of your congregation into fellowship and helping to educate them to lead sound moral lives,” he said.

Rev Odonkor asked them to pray always since it is the only way to have a complete communion with God.

He reminded the ministers that they had the greatest challenge of campaigning against vices such as homosexuality and same sex marriage, to save the lives of the youth and vulnerable in society.

The Presbytery Chairperson urged the ministers to have time for themselves and their families, as well as reading the scriptures for their spiritual growth.

The ordained ministers are Rev. Charles Adom Darkwa, Rev. Emmanuel Anneh, Rev. Kingsley Addo Asare, Rev. Kofi Manukure Acheampong, Rev. Kwame Ameyibor, Rev. Patrick Agyei Acheampong and Rev. Samuel Kwaku Adjei.

The rest were Rev. Seth Ofosu Asamani, Rev. Yaw Adu Boadu, Rev. Edmund Bortier, Rev. Joseph Richmond Tettey, Rev. Samuel Tetteh Quaye, Rev. Alfred Nii Lante Wellington and Rev. Benjamin Kwadwo Aboagye.
