Presbyterian Church consoles accident victims

The Akuapem Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has consoled the victims and families of the Gomoa Mampong accident which claimed 13 lives including the driver of the vehicle.

Victims of last Saturday accident were members of the Emmanuel Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Nsawam who were travelling to Mankessim for a funeral when the 207 Benz Bus conveying them collided with a heavy duty tipper truck.

A total of 13 members of the church including the driver of their vehicle died in the accident and seven others sustained injuries.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after a visit to the accident scene on Sunday, the Akuapem Presbytery Chairperson, Reverend George Opare Kwapong, described the incident as a tragedy.

Four of the accident victims had been transferred to the Nsawam Government Hospital and three are on admission at the Winneba Hospital.

Rev. Kwapong appealed to motorists and other road users to adhere to road safety regulations in order to reduce the high number of road accidents in the country.
