Presby Church evaluates contributions of members

Kumasi, Aug 3, GNA – The Presbyterian Church of Ghana has introduced a novelty assembly concept to provide a platform for effective assessment and evaluation of the contribution of the youth, women and men to the growth of the Church.

This is the brainchild of the former Moderator, the Very Reverend Dr Yaw Frimpong-Manso. It is being piloted at the Kwadaso branch of the Church.

The goal is to help deepen the understanding of the congregation of the principles and ideals of Presbyterianism. Very Rev Dr Frimpong-Manso said the assembly would be held in three separate sessions for the youth, women and men. He said it was necessary the Church took stock of the activities and contributions of its members to have a clearer view of how it was faring within the context of its vision and mission statement.

He described as 93worrying” the way some self-seeking Christian leaders were confusing and deceiving people through false doctrines.

It was on account of this that Christians should be continually sensitized and assisted to better understand their responsibilities and roles in Church building, he explained. Very Rev Dr Frimpong-Manso said it important to mentor the youth to develop positive attitudes to life and shun all forms of vices detrimental to their growth and development. 03 Aug. 11
