Pregnant woman dies for refusing blood

A 31-year old pregnant woman, Rebecca Dankwah, who went to the Juaboso Government Hospital to deliver has died after refusing blood transfusion.

The Hospital Administrator, Mr. Lucas Anane, told the media that the expectant mother came to the facility on Wednesday, June 17, to deliver.

However, after delivering, she started bleeding profusely, and the hospital authorities, therefore, suggested that she should be given blood.

He said the deceased refused the blood, insisting it was against her religious faith.
