Preach peace to ease tension in society

Jachie (Ash), July 25, GNA- The Reverend Grace Duodu, Minister in charge of the Aduaden Methodist Church, has asked Christians to send out powerful messages of peace and tolerance to help ease tension and bring hope to what she termed “our troubled society”.

She said since Christianity was essentially about love, Christians were enjoined to ensure that all people regardless of their religious, ideological or political beliefs to live in harmony.

The Reverend Duodu was addressing the opening ceremony of a three-day first ever conference of the Kumasi Circuit Susanna Wesley Mission Auxiliary at Jachie in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District of Ashanti.

The theme for the conference was “Making Disciples of all Nations” and was designed to equip participants with the needed communication skills to enable them to undertake effective evangelisation to win more souls for Christ.

The Reverend Minister said, “It is simply not enough to profess to have had an encounter with Jesus Christ in our lives, but more importantly, let the world see a real change in us in order to have positive influence on them.”

We should carry ourselves in such a way that the rest of society would look up to us for leadership and direction”. Rev. Duodu reminded members of the Susanna Wesley that, as mothers they should be models to their children by eschewing dishonesty, immorality and indiscipline. An evangelist, Mr Michael Sarhene, asked Christians to devout much time for God’s work, adding that they all have a duty to propagate the gospel and help the unsaved to come to know God. The Susanna Wesley, supports hospitals and orphanages and vocational skills training, needy and girls who had dropped out from schools. The group also organise health programmes and other educational programmes for its members. 25 July, 05
