Pre-paid metres installed in Takoardi.

Takoradi, July 23, GNA – The Western Regional Office of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has so far installed 10,000 residential and non-residential prepaid meters in Takoradi. Mr. Dan Adjei-Larbi, Public Relations Officer of the ECG, told the effective revenue mobilization, less disconnections and the provision of more reliable service.

He said the company had targeted to install 42,000 in Takoradi, 21,000 in Sekondi and 16,000 in Tarkwa. Mr. Adjei-Larbi said though the exercise started off smoothly, the various ministries, departments and agencies (MDA) have complained of their inability to raise funds for the purchase of power. He said vending stations have been established and that Takoradi is expected to have 21 vending stations by December. 23 July 08
