Prampram kingmakers and Chief sign MOU

Prampram (G/A), April 12, GNA- The five-year chieftaincy dispute between the kingmakers and the Chief of Prampram Traditional Area came to an end on Saturday with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two parties at Prampram.

The MOU between Nene Tetteh Djan III, chief of Prampram and the Kingmakers was to end all chieftaincy litigation pending before the law courts by declaring them null and void.

It was signed by Nene Djan, Mr Samuel Kwaku Abbey of Doku Mansro We, Numo Kwei Aseyie Abbey of Tetteh Djan We, Mr Waka/Shamo Wayoe from Kwei Oplebu We and Naa Larbi Dede Abbey, the Queen Mother.

The document was signed in the presence of Asafoatse Odajadam III, Osuwem, Asafoaste Gyebi, of Addico We, Asafoatse Guantadua from Ablewankor, Mr K. B. Asante of Ga Dangme Council and Mr Bright Akwetey, solicitor for Dzaase.

In February 2004, the two parties smoked the peace pipe with the performance of customary rites to signify the re-unification of the Dzaase and the resolution of the impasse in the interest of peace, unity and development of Prampram area.

The MOU added that, “the parties are determined to re-unite the Dzaase and resolve all outstanding matters that hitherto divided them”.
