Practice regenerative health – Amoateng

Kumasi, Sept. 16, GNA – Mr Kwame Amoanteng, Administrator of the Saint Michael’s Hospital at Pramso in the Bosomtwe District of Ashanti, has called on Ghanaians to adopt regenerative health practice, which involves eating a balanced diet, exercising the body, drinking enough water and resting very well to enable them live longer. He said although the national health insurance had been introduced to make health care affordable, there was the need for people to protect and prevent themselves from getting sick before going to seek health care.

Mr Amoateng was addressing staff of the hospital at Kyirapatre, near Kumasi after they had embarked on a health walk over the weekend as part of the activities marking the hospital’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

The one hour walk, which started from the Kumasi Central Post Office through some principal streets ended at Kyirapatre. Mr Emmanuel Amoah, Ashanti Regional representative of Promasidor Limited, one of the sponsors of the walk, said since what people ate could affect their health, there was the need for them to start each day with taking milk, which could give them the needed nutrient to nourish the body for the day.

He cautioned Ghanaians about what they ate each day to prevent them from getting infected with diseases and other ailments, which could make them less productive. Mr Amoah was not happy that people did not take keen interest in what they eat and just accepted any food because they were delicious and pleasing to the tongue.
