PR Practitioners to acquire computer skills

Accra, April 4, GNA – Mr Alex Kwadwo Boateng, Honorary Secretary of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR), has underscored the need for Public Relations Practitioners to avail themselves of the benefits of modern technology to update their skills and endeavour to acquire knowledge in computer systems.

He noted that in the modern era of Information Communication Technology (ICT) it was expedient for members of the Institute to avail themselves of all the benefits of modern technology and strive to become computer-literate.

Mr Boateng made the call in Accra at the closing session of a Training Seminar in ICT organised by IPR for 30 members.

The five-day Profession Development Seminar took the participants through the fundamentals of Computer technology.

Mr Boateng said the Institute was poised to give members the necessary training programmes in Computer technology in order to ensure that they became ICT literate by the end of the year.

“We cannot function as efficient PR people if we are not computer-literate”, he said.

The participants were awarded certificates.
