PPP Gov’t will establish gold refinery – Nduom

Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, flag bearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) has said the party would establish a refinery for gold and other natural minerals if voted to power in December.

This, he noted, would cut down on the raw export of these natural resources to foreign countries where they were processed and brought back into the country to be sold at a rather expensive cost.

Dr. Nduom said this during the launch of the Mpohor-Wassa constituency campaign at Mpohor in the Western Region at the weekend.

He was not happy with the way and manner the economy was being managed, saying that “Ghanaians are currently in dire need of a change of political leadership and policy direction”.

Dr. Nduom said lots of things were not going on well and particularly mentioned the mass youth unemployment, high prices of goods and services, ill-equipped health facilities, bad road networks among other things which were hampering the economic growth of the country.

He said, “PPP is the solution to all these countless problems that the country is facing”.

On Education, he noted that the PPP government would provide library facilities, ICT centres, teachers’ bungalows, textbooks, school blocks and learning materials which would help instructors and students alike to give of their best.

On the country’s oil find, he said the people of the region who bore the brunt of its production would be properly taken care of, adding “Let Ghanaians try the PPP for four years and they will experience real economic freedom”.

Mrs. Mary Boateng, aspiring PPP Parliamentary candidate for Mpohor, urged the people in the constituency to vote the party into power.

Earlier on, the flagbearer visited the palace of Osabarima Kow Entsie II, the Omanhene of Mpohor Traditional Area where he interacted with the chief on issues bordering on peace and development.**
