Power outage grinds NADMO operations to a halt

The seeming power play at the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) appears to be affecting the operations of the organisation.

As a result, staff at NADMO on Wednesday were unable to respond to an emergency situation because their plant had run out of fuel and as alleged to be what has now become a norm, they needed clearance from the “power from above” before the situation could be rectified.

Sources with knowledge of the operations of NADMO told mynewsgh.com that although the disaster management organisation has five deputies, the place is being run with an iron fist as the Coordinator, Eric Nana Agyeman-Prempeh, has allegedly instructed that nothing works at the state agency without his express approval.

As a result, when the plant at NADMO headquarters run out of fuel in the wake of the power outage, operations came to a halt as there was no money to refuel the plant since the sole authority was out of town.

“When the power outage occurred, even though all the other deputies were at post, none could issue a directive for our generators to be refuelled. We had to send a text to our coordinator who is in faraway Liberia before he sent a directive via text that we could go and buy the fuel,” a source revealed.

This is however not the first time concerns have been raised about the administrative style of Eric Nana Agyeman-Prempeh who appears to be running a one-man show without recourse to his deputies.
