Poultry farmers in Volta region to process birds

Ho, Nov. 25, GNA – The Volta Region Poultry Farmers’ Association is to go into the processing of birds under the name Volta Poultry Products Limited. The Agriculture Development Bank (ADB) has agreed to sink 400,000 Ghana cedis into the project with the remaining 53,000 Ghana cedis expected to come from the public. Mr Delali Ndor, Executive Director of Ronjet Group, providers of Business Services to the Association, made this known to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at the Volta Region Trade, Investment and Culture fair in Ho. Mr Ndor said the initial production capacity of the processing facility would be 2,000 birds per day and that there would be no shortage of birds to feed the facility as the current potential production of birds in the region stands at 2,000,000 birds. He said the Association has already put up a building for the processing unit at the Ho Municipal Industrial area near the Volta Barracks. Mr Ndor therefore urged individuals and the business community in the region would buy into the project.
