POTAG threatens May 3 strike if…

The Ashanti regional branch of the Polytechnic Teachers Association of Ghana has threatened a strike by May if the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission fails to start negotiations on the category 2 and 3 allowances as well as their re-negotiation of the conditions of Service of polytechnic Lecturers.

Edmond Oppong Peprah, the Chairman of the Ashanti regional branch of the Polytechnic Teachers Association said all attempts to get the authorities to address their concerns have proved futile.

“It should be noted that the more POTAG delays, the more POTAG loses, our conditions of service presently is very appalling and must not be allowed to continue”.

“We are therefore informing the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission…that by close of work on Friday May 3, 2013 if we do not hear anything from the Fair Wages, we would resort to any action to seek redress” Mr. Oppong Peprah said.
