Postal Agent appeals for the rehabilitation of Odomasi Post Office

Madam Ernestina Pokuaa, Postal Agent of Odomasi Post Office in the Sunyani West District, has appealed to the Government and management of the Ghana Post (GP) to rehabilitate the office.

Making the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Odomase on Monday, she said the post office had not been rehabilitated since its inauguration in 1956.

Madam Pokuaa, the only worker at the office, said the office was in a deplorable state with cracks and leakages when it rained destroying letters and other files.

She pointed out that the wooden letter boxes were rotten therefore, most people took advantage to steal letters not belonging to them, adding “Sometimes I worked until late in the evening and even had to take some of the letters home because most often people, especially children when playing open the boxes and take the letters out because they had no keys”.

“We have only 54 letter boxes, only a few are good and being supported with nails, which cannot even last for a long period. All efforts to make the management aware of the situation has not been successful but hope now management will be aware of our problems,” Madam Pokua added.
