Portion of Kumasi-Cape Coast highway caves in

New Edubiase(Ash), April 02, GNA – A portion of the Kumasi-Cape Coast highway at New Edubiase has caved in since Friday March 24 posing threats to road users.

To ensure that drivers are not involved in accidents, personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service at New Edubiase have been detailed to guide drivers.

Mr Osei Bonsu, Adansi South District Fire Officer, speaking to the Ghana News Agency at New Edubiase appealed to the Ghana Highway Authority (GHA) to urgently attend to the problem to avoid loss of lives.

“The delay is not good and that GHA should quickly address the problem since the road is a busy one,” he said. The District Fire Officer said the portion that caved in was near a bridge and the other side of the road was also weak and needed prompt action to be taken.

Mr Bonsu called on the media to create the needed awareness for road users to alert them against any road accident.
