Porter jailed 12years for defilement

Cape Coast, Aug. 6, GNA – Kweku Bagyina, a 32-year-old porter, was on Thursday jailed 12 years by a circuit in Cape Coast for defiling a 13-year-old girl at Elmina. Bagyina pleaded guilty.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Gershon Awuye told the court that On July 26, 2009 the victim left the house with her friends at about 1500 hours to watch a cultural performance at the Elmina sea-view and whiles there she met Bagyina.

He lured her to the beach behind the Elmina Castle and sexually abused her and whilst in the act the Elmina Castle guards spotted them and arrested them and sent them to the police station. Chief Inspector Awuye said in his caution statement, Bagyina admitted the offence and told the police that was his third time of having sex with the victim. 06 Aug 09
