Polytechnic teachers threaten strike

Takoradi, Jan. 16, GNA- Members of the Takoradi Polytechnic Chapter of the Concerned Polytechnic Teachers Association of Ghana (COPTAG) on Monday threatened to withdraw their services by the end of the month.

This they said was in reaction to the undue delay of the Fair Wages and Salary Commission (FWSC) in migrating members unto the Single Spine Salary Structure .

Addressing a press conference in Takoradi to express their concern, Mr Asiedu Kokuro, representative of the COPTAG noted that the migration process had been too slow.

He said series of meetings with FWSC on the exercise had not been successful thus placing members in unfortunate financial hardship.

Mr Kokuro indicated that the plight of the Polytechnic teachers is worsening for the past two years.

“We are becoming apprehensive because of the procrastinations by the FWSC,” he said.
