The Rawlings Super Foundation, a pro-democratic group committed to the ideals of former President Jerry John Rawlings, has implored political parties to come clean with their campaigns to foster a peaceful General Election.
“For me, the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections should not be seen as a do or die affair.
“It is rather an opportunity for us to further consolidate the nation’s growing democracy,” the Foundation noted, in a statement issued in Kumasi by its Patron; Togbe Mawufeame Fugah and copied to Ghana News Agency.
The statement expressed the need for the political parties to address issues when they mount political platforms, and tell the masses what they intend to bring on board in respect of job creation, infrastructural development, educational and health growth.
By so doing, the people would be abreast of the right party to vote for based on their own manifestoes and development agenda, as well as policies and programmes.
The statement took a swipe at politicians whose utterances had the potential to inflame passion, and advised the people to reject those who foment trouble for sanity to prevail before during and after the November polls.
