Sunyani (B/A), Dec 1, GNA- The Standing Committee of the Brong-Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs have called on all eligible voters in the region to exercise their franchise on December 7. A communiqu=E9 issued at the end of an emergency meeting of chiefs of the House in Sunyani on Monday, they noted that the forthcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections were so vital towards the consolidation of the democratic process in Ghana.
” All Ghanaians must ensure the success of the elections”,the chiefs said.
The Communique signed for and on behalf of the Chiefs, by Okatakyie Agyeman Kudom IV, President of the House, appealed to politicians in the region to conduct their campaigns in a manner that would not provoke their opponents.
“Campaign should be used to address issues and not to attack opponents or personalities”, the communiqu=E9 advised. The chiefs called on the Electoral Commission (EC), the Security Agencies and the media to be circumspect of their roles in order not to give any party an unfair advantage over others.
