A policeman and a driver’s mate died on the spot when a bus conveying police recruits from the Pwalugu Depot was involved in a road crash at Dawadawa near Kintampo, in the Brong Ahafo Region.

The corpses of General Lance Corporal Ebenezer Obeng of the Rapid Deployment Force and Razak, the driver’s mate, have been deposited at the Kintampo Government Hospital Mortuary.

ASP Christopher Tawiah, Regional Police Public Relations Officer, told the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani on Wednesday that the bus was conveying the recruits to Accra and Koforidua under police escort.

He said the road crash occurred at about 0100 at Dawadawa when the bus veered off the road and hit a mango tree.
