Policeman defiles 15-year-old girl and absconds

Techiman (B/A) Jan. 25, GNA – Police Constable Ranson Nsiah, stationed at Techiman in Brong Ahafo is on the run after defiling a 15-year-old Junior Secondary School (JSS) student.

The Municipal Police Commander, Superintendent Paul Kojo Gyempeh confirmed the incident, saying police were investigating.

Narrating her ordeal to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the victim said at about 1900 hours last Monday, Constable Nsiah, sought permission from the victim’s mother to allow her to sleep with his daughter because he was on night duty.

She said Constable Nsiah subsequently went out and at about 2030 hours she and his daughter retired into the room, as arranged. At about midnight, whilst doing her homework she said she heard someone knock at the door and when she enquired as to whom it was, the Constable answered saying he had come back to pick something from the room.

The victim said Constable Nsiah then offered to complete her homework for her but she decided to go and sleep in the mother’s room. Constable Nsiah, however, told her he would soon leave for work so she should stay with his daughter to take care of the room. The victim said she woke up later in the night to find Constable Nsiah naked and lying on his bed but before she could become aware the policeman pulled her onto his bed, gagged her and forcibly had sex with her.

When she attempted to go and inform the mother after the act, Constable Nsiah locked the door and took the keys away till the following morning.

The victim said the Constable warned her not to disclose the ordeal to anyone or he would kill her but she informed her mother who reported the matter to the police.

Nsiah had since bolted from Techiman. A medical examination form was issued to the girl to attend hospital for examination.
